Osaka-shi - description of the city:

Osaka, also called Osaka-shi is a city in Japan in the region of Kansai. It is the capital of the prefecture of the same name and the biggest part of its region. Additionally, it is one of the largest cities in the nation with almost 20 million people living there. It is positioned on a river at Osaka bay.

Like many other cities in Japan, the temperatures are not too extreme. The city experiences four seasons. The winter is temperate, and there rarely is snow. However, afterwards, the climate tends to progress from mild in the spring to fairly hot with a reasonable amount of humidity as the summertime rolls around. The rainy seasons are pretty wet, and the autumn brings with it a period of cooling down, ending in a colder temperatures as it transitions into winter. Overall, the climate is humid subtropical.

Osaka has a lot of neighbourhoods split into northern and southern sections, uptown and downtown respectively. At its core, the city is very urban, sporting an impressive cityscape, as Osaka is very much a bustling metropolis. This city has a prominent business sector as well as smaller, quieter neighbourhood areas.

There are many things to do in Osaka. As far as shopping goes, there is nothing left to be desired, as the city possesses a large number of wholesaling and retailing outlets all over its vicinity. Indeed, entire districts of the city are devoted shopping areas to satisfy any purchase needs anyone may have. In the aspect of food, once again, Osaka does not disappoint, sporting a wide variety of culinary wonders that will surely satisfy the palate. Osaka is famous for its food, both within the nation and internationally.

Osaka is also rich in entertainment, with many theatres, halls, and productions to be enjoyed. With this, the city also has festivals for many purposes to be enjoyed by all. If a festival doesn’t suit the fancy of a visitor, they will surely be entertained by the variety of museums and galleries that this city has, or perhaps, the presence of sports and media presented by this city. There is little time to be bored on a visit to this city.
