Yokohama-shi - description of the city:

Yokohama, also known as Yokohama-shi, or in official terms, the City of Yokohama is a city in Japan. It is near Tokyo and lays within the radius of the capital’s general area. Out of all the cities in Japan, Yokohama has the highest amount of people living in it, at almost four million.

The city is a center from which a strong economy is rooted. There are many industries that flow from this city. Many people come and go from this city on business.

Yokohama, as a city in the central portion of Japan, experiences temperatures are fairly temperate and average, not entering the area of extremes. Summertimes are pretty warm, and sometimes get hot as a result of humidity. On the other hand, during the winter, the temperatures are cold, however, they rarely become frigid, and it is rare that Yokohama get a winter that goes below freezing. The climate overall is humid and subtropical.

In Yokohama, public transportation is not a problem. The systems in this city are extensive and very efficient. Trains cross the city with millions of people taking the high speed line daily. There is, in addition, an underground train system.

In Yokohama there are many places of attraction to be found. There are heritage sites such as the ancient port area which was where the first settlement in the city was located. Yokohama features one of the world’s biggest lighthouses in the form of the Yokohama Marine Tower. There are multiple interesting museums to visit in this city, like the doll museum or the silk museum. Across the city, there are areas that contain shops, bars, parks, and restaurants that are enjoyed by city residents and tourists alike. In the city, there are also stadiums that can be seen as a representation of the sports clubs and teams that fail from this city. Additionally, the Nissan Stadium was the location for the 2002 World Cup.
